My Story
Hi there, my name is Maxie Diamantopoulos, founder and CEO of Smiles 4 Miles.
I started Smiles 4 Miles at the age of 19 following the end of a long and incredibly challenging health journey that I had battled for many years.
Towards the later stages of my journey, I was told by doctors that there were no further treatment options available to improve my condition, and that this was something I would likely have to endure indefinitely.
Despite all odds, I was fortunate enough to experience a miraculous recovery. A new and temporary illness drew attention to a previously unexplored symptom, ultimately leading to the discovery that changed — and saved — my life.
Unlike many children in Australia, I was incredibly fortunate to be given a second chance at a healthy and independent life.
Because of this, I felt a deep responsibility to use that second chance to bring joy to children who may not receive the same opportunity I was given. Knowing that many of these children may never experience a healthy and self-sustaining future, I wanted to dedicate my second chance to bringing happiness, laughter, and meaningful memories to their lives.
That is why I founded Smiles 4 Miles.
I created engaging programs and personalised activities designed to bring children excitement, laughter, and moments of escape from the immense challenges they face every day.
Miracles do happen, and Smiles 4 Miles is my way of sharing my miracle with children and families who deserve as much joy, hope, and happiness as possible.
